Meet the Occupational Therapist

Courtney Otto, OTR/L NTMTC

Pediatric Occupational Therapist

I am so excited for you to be here! (Come watch me HERE on YouTube).

I have always been passionate about my job as an Occupational Therapist (OT) and working with babies. It resonates so much with my ability to help parents and their children in the hospital setting, and wanted to find a platform to share my knowledge with more families! It is so rewarding to support development from a sensory perspective and bonding for infants and I wanted to help provide other parents in their journey with their little one. As an OT, my education and expertise makes me uniquely qualified to provide a holistic and all encompassing approach to newborn development and caregiver support.

I graduated from a phenomenal 5 year Occupational Therapy Program at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. I graduated with a pediatric specification track, which is very unique to OT programs. I always knew I wanted to work with kids since I decided on my career choice! From there I went on to work at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for 2 years. It was the experience of a lifetime, and I am so thankful for the phenomenal mentor-ship I received. I truly developed into the OT I am today because of CHOP, and it was there I was first exposed to babies. Also had my first diaper change there, and I had a mentor I called the baby whisperer who taught me so much. I was homesick and decided to venture back home for a few months before relocating to Florida to be closer to family! I ended up at another children’s hospital and currently work with children of all ages, but predominately with infants under the age of 6 months, which includes the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). Working with medically complex infants has been both challenging and rewarding. I went on to obtain my NTMTC (Neonatal Massage and Touch Certification) in November of 2019. I also am finishing up my Infant Massage Certification (CEIM), but have been performing massage for over 6 years. I love to teach my parents at work about sensory input and positive touch in the critical months of development and foster the bonding between caregiver and baby. Its been eight phenomenal years of being an OT now and I can’t wait to share all that I can!
