Meet the Occupational Therapist

Courtney Otto, OTR/L NMTC

Pediatric Occupational Therapist

I am so excited for you to be here! (Come watch me HERE on YouTube).

I have always been passionate about my job as an Occupational Therapist (OT) and working with babies. I resonate so much with my ability to help parents and their children in the hospital setting, and wanted to find a platform to share my knowledge with more families! It is so rewarding to support development from a sensory perspective and bonding for infants and I wanted to help provide other parents in their journey with their little one.

I graduated from a phenomenal 5 year Occupational Therapy Program from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. I graduated with a pediatric specification track, which is very unique to OT programs. I always knew I wanted to work with kids since I decided on my career choice! From there I went on to work at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for 2 years. It was the experience of a lifetime, and I am so thankful for the phenomenal mentor-ship I was given there. I truly became the OT I am today because of CHOP. It was there I was first exposed to babies. Also had my first diaper change there. I had a mentor I called the baby whisperer and she taught me so much. I have now inherited that name at my current job. I was homesick and decided to venture back home for a few months before relocating to Florida to be closer to family! I ended up at another children’s hospital and currently work with a variety of ages, but predominately with infants under the age of 6 months, and that includes the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). Working with medically complex infants has been both challenging and rewarding. I went on to obtain my NTMTC Neonatal Massage and Touch Certification) in November of 2019. I also am finishing up my Infant Massage Certification (CEIM). I love to teach my parents at work about sensory input and positive touch in the critical months of development. Its been eight phenomenal years of being an OT now and I can’t wait to share all that I can!
